ITS A HALLOWEEN SEASON

Friends, since its a Halloween season, I have one true story to tell.

I remembered very clearly on that incident, its was an eerie and unhappy day for me.

I was in a hospital after I lost my second pregnancy. Everytime, I enter any hospital, I will feel uneasy. Anyway, I was the only one in that hospital room that night and I really couldn't sleep. I have requested the Doctor to give me some sleeping pills early cause I will know that I will need it later. After twisting and turning for a few times and it was way 12am, I decided to take the sleeping pills.

However, after taking the sleeping pill I still unable to doze off. Anyway, mabye after 2 to 3hours later I was still half awake and half asleep. There was this man figure slipping in and out the door and trying to come near my bed. I really can feel it was not human at all but I was a bit scare that the figure will come too close to me and suddenly I remembered the Kuan Yin mantra. I say my prayers and the man figure disappear immediately and I feel very calm and fall into deep sleep.

The next morning, I asked my husband whether he have come visit me in the middle of the night or not. And his answer was, are you mad ! of COURSE NOT!

The TRUTH about PLASTIC !

Did you ever drink from a plastic bottle and see a triangle symbol on the bottom with a number inside?

Do you know what the number stands for?
Did you guess that it's just for recycling?
Then you are WRONG !!!!!!
THE NUMBER TELLS YOU THE CHEMICAL MAKE UP OF THE PLASTIC.....

1) Polyethylene terephalate (PET)
2) High density polyethylene (HDPE)
3) Unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (UPVC) or Plasticised polyvinyl chloride (PPVC)
4) Low density polyethylene LDPE
5) Polypropylene (PP)
6) Polystyrene (PS) or Expandable polystyrene (EPS)
7) Other, including nylon and acrylic
What you aren't told is that many of the plastics used are toxic and the chemicals used to create a plastic can leach out of the plastic and into the food / drink.
Think about it, how many times have you or a friend said "I don't like this, it taste like the plastic bottle ..... "
THAT'S BECAUSE YOU ARE TASTING THE PLASTIC
The WORST ONES are Nos: 3, 6, and 7 !!!

DO NOT USE THESE NUMBERS if stated at the bottom of the bottle) !!!

Check out this chart that breaks down the plastic, its uses and chemical makeup
(I find #7 a little scary)
http://www.epd.gov.hk/epd/english/environmentinhk/waste/guide_ref/guide_plascod3.html

Reusing plastic bottles by refilling them is NOT a good idea.WATCH THIS VIDEO:

Microwaving plastic containers affects the chemical make up of the plastic, allowing the chemical substances to destabilize and leach out more quickly into the food you are reheating. You can check out this article that ran in the Wall Street Journal:

EVEN one of my favorite "RUMOR DEBUNKING" websites,URBANLEGENDS.ABOUT.COM

Lists the information as: overblown with a grain of TRUTH

AVOID re-using plastic bottles RIGHT AWAY !!!

The Hunter & Monkey

I have to withdraw my article on "Green Ghost & Red Ghost" coz my memory failed me.. I can't recall the exact story and the worst part of it is that I have no clue about the answer....(so so -ree huh..) Will check with my nephew again the next time I see him.

Try this one - another masterpiece from the same nephew. Basically a six-year-old has very innocent thought. So just work on the logic and dun think otherwise. A person who knows monkeys well enough will solve it easily....

A hunter was exhilarated when he saw a bird perching on a tree. Without a second thought, he aimed his gun at the target. On the same moment, a little monkey appeared at the back of the hunter. Only a few steps away from the hunter, the monkey was observing in curiosity. Obviously he wasn't aware on the meaning of danger. Shortly, the hunter pulled the trigger let out a loud bang!

Well, sad to say that this may very well be the absolute lousiest hunter ever! Apparently, he missed his shot and the bird took a flight immediately. Then...what happened to the monkey? Oh my god, it's nose was bleeding profusely.

Do you know why?

Clue: It wasn't a backfire.

Brother help! Jeffery to the rescue.........No worry brother is here!
Hehehe....... I am the smartest....you all do all the dirty job and I will just stand here to catch it!

This Plant Will Kill Your Dog (And Maybe Your Kids)

Beware, you may have this plant at home.

A STORY I RECEIVED FROM A EMAIL.....

We were letting our dog play outside all day Sunday and upon checking on him found that he had yanked a small houseplant off of the deck and was chewing on the root of it. He chews on all kinds of plants in the yard and I thought of tossing it over the fence but figured he would just try to dig under to get it so unfortunately I let him keep it. A couple hours later we let him in the house and he's foaming yellow froth, drooling, and shaking. 20 minutes later we are in the emergency vet and are told the prognosis is not good and he'll likely die.

Leaves and male cone of Cycas revoluta.

female reproductive structure

The plant is called a Sago Palm and its highly poisonous to both pets and humans.
A chemical in the plant called cycasin is toxic and often causes permanent liver damage as well as neurological damage if enough of the poison is absorbed by the body.

The seeds are the most poisonous part of the plant and the effects on humans are seizures, coma and death. Of course you and I wouldn't just yank off a chunk of this plant and gnaw on it but the seeds are colorful so if you have kids and Sago palm in your yard educate them on the danger or get rid of the plant.

Fortunately our dog was one of the lucky ones. I later discovered that our dog vomited the plant in the yard soon after swallowing it, and after 2 days in the vet on IV, and having a ball of charcoal inserted in his stomach, a test revealed that his liver was recovering and he came home. Sadly few people are aware of how dangerous this plant, many have lost their dogs, and even many veterinarians are unaware.

This plant doesn't carry a warning label and is becoming popular in Walmart, Lowes, and Home Depot so spread the word.

OUR KIDS

I heard a lot about spoilt kids this era in a recent radio channel. I even encounter those kids rolling on the floor and crying out loud to get what they want.

Luckily, I dont encounter this with my kids. This is the following question I would like to ask the parents;

1) Where did they learn this kind of rebellious and fighting attitude?
Children are just a piece of white paper, they learn very fast from the TV and from us. So, be careful do not quarrel in front of them. Especially your attitude, it will influence them immediately.

2) Do you understand them?
Understand them why they are so eager to get what they want. Its because they are influence by their friends or cousin who have this toys. They want to show off to get the attention from their friends.

3) Do they respect and love you?
Always remind them that you love and respect them and they will do the same. Explain to them whats the meaning of respect and love. Dont show them you love by buying toys or do what they want.

4) Do you know what is the consequences if the children get what they want?
Did you feel quilty of spending less time with them? Is the toys a bribe to replace the loss time with them? This not love by bribing them with toys cause you are spoiling them. And imagine if they are all grown up with this kind of attitude, they will lie to get what they want. I seldom bring my kids to the toys shop and the only place we visit is to the book stores or buy some educational toys even I can afford it. I will explain to them where our money comes from and how our money is being use for the benefit all in the family. Do maths with your kids on how to handle money wisely.

5) Do you talk to them face to face? or you just grumble and warn them?
Talk to them face to face if you found out or notice that they did something wrong. Warned them not to repeat the mistake or you will punish them.(make sure you really punish them).

This is one of the true happening that I encounter;

One day, my youngest son, offered to wash my car for RM2. Of course, I immediately agreed and I told him that he owed me RM48. He was surprised and I asked me why. I told him that I am his driver during this tuition lesson and my fees is RM38 and plus the petrol is RM10.

Later, I explain to him that its not the matter of whether I can afford it or not, I just want to let him know that we did a lot of things together as a family and cannot be so calculative.

Herbal treatment for High Blood pressure & cholesterol

MOK YEE (CLOUD EAR, WOOD EAR)

I would like to share this secret for treating high cholesterol which I received it in my email. Its no harm in trying this new recipe.

Review: (STORY LINE)

I immediately followed an advice of a friend who told me about Black fungus
(Mok Yee). He had four block heart arteries, over 90 percent blocked. His
cardiologist advised him to go for bypass surgery, failing which he would suffer
an imminent heart attack. His sinseh ( chinese physician) friend advised him
against surgery as the procedure would be messy, painful and expensive.

He followed the advise of his sinseh friend by consuming Mok Yee daily. After
consuming boiled Mok Yee juice for 40 days, he went for an angiogram. His
heart specialist was surprised and shocked that his arteries were all cleared
of any blockage and it would not be necessary to see him for another 10 years!

My observation is that Mok Yee juice is not only effective in treating high blood
cholestrol but also helps to bring relief to joint paints, arthritis and poor blood
circulation.

The internet info. claims : that Mok yee reduces blood clot, preventing thrombosis,
atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease, and cancer.Black Fungus contains
abundant protein, ferric, calcium, vitamin, rough fibre, the content of protein is
equal to meat.

Preparation :

1) Pick a hand full of Mok Yee and soak in water for 1-2 hours
2) Wash Mok Yee and cut to pieces with scissors.
3) Pour five bowls of plain water into slow cooker (crock pot)
4) Put 2-3 slices of ginger, 8-10 red dates, 20 kay chee(wolf berry)
into crock pot.
5) Bring to boil for 8 hours. One and a half bowls of Mok Yee juice will remain
after boiling overnight.

Consumption : You may consume for 10 to 14 days according to the severity
of the problem. For those with low blood pressure consume less or only
for alternate days.

Drink Mok Yee first thing in the morning with an 'empty stomach'. Consume
at least one large bowl. Take breakfast 2 hours later.

Side effects - you may feel a little tired after 3- 4 days. Consume multivitamins
and fresh fruits and vegetables daily. Do not eat oily or fried foods during
this period.

Observation : Dark and oily stool during the first two days.

Remarks : Cholesterol medication is chemical in nature and may harm the liver.
Mok Yee is a plant and does not contain chemicals.

Watch out for crocodiles!

Our blog seems to be very quite & low traffic lately. Everyone seems to mind their own biz more than contributing into this blog. Hey! Are you guys still on Raya Leave?? Our poor Chief Blogger Christina seems to be the sole entertainer at the moment even to the extend of revealing her "bedroom secret" to everyone out there.
What? You miss the article?? Nothing much lar, it's not behind closed doors but at the back of the draperies..Come on, let's not be too serious about our daily biz okay...:p

Why not play this......

During my old school days, I used to play lots of brainteasers, riddles, pop quiz and puzzles with my frens. We really enjoyed the guessing game and luv to do it during our pastimes. Although sometime we took weeks to solve some of the puzzles, we enjoy the challenges in finding the solutions for the trickiest riddles. Some of the riddles & brainteasers are our very own invention and don't undermine us, our own creation can be very tricky too, beyond imagination. Well, since all of you are getting bored with blogging, come and join me with the fun of guessing. Herewith one of my best brainteasers:

At the southern part of the Kelantan State, there was a swampy area which was the habitat of ferocious crocodiles. During the monsoon days, the flood water swept away a nearby village including all the livestocks and hence, our poor crocodiles have to suffer from hunger pangs for weeks. These predator beasts were so damn starving that they decided to lurk underneath the water, in wait for any animals which wander close before they could attack and feasting themselves.

It was then a sunny afternoon and a wild boar was walking towards the river, the part of the water where most of these crocodile are hiding. Oh dear..he wanted to get across the river! First, he observed the surrounding and contemplating whether he should take chances. At last, since there was no other option, he decided to thread across the river. Amazingly, he was able to cross over to the other side of the river,unharmed.. Hey! The crocodiles did not attack it.

Why??

Whoever solve this brainteaser will get a present...have fun guessing!!

One Flaw In Women

I received an email from a friend and think that is worth positing in this blog for a reminder that we are all one great woman.

O
ne Flaw In Women

Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
But they hold happiness, love and joy!
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
And laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer.

When they believe there is a better solution,
They go without so their family can have.

They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.

They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member, Yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.

They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
To show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their Family and friends.

Women have vital things to say And everything to give.

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS
ONE FLAW IN WOMEN IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.
